Garrett Appliances are now offering smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector reporting and installations.
Since 1st October 2015 landlords are required by law to install smoke and CO2 detectors in rented accommodation. A smoke detector must be installed on each storey of the premises on which there is a room used wholly or partly as living accommodation.
A carbon monoxide detector must be installed in any room which contains a solid fuel burning combustion appliance. This applies to any kind of wood burning stove or an open coal fire. It also includes solid fuel AGAs in kitchens.
Garrett Appliances charge £50.00 + VAT (£60.00) to complete a smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector report. Once on site we give the opportunity to fit smoke detectors at £25.00 + VAT (£30.00) per unit, fitted and £35.00 + VAT (£42.00) for a carbon monoxide detector.
